Favor

72,000 Meals Donated

So many people are in trouble today and are hoping and praying that somebody remembers them. Sadly the number of people who need favor (someone to take a minute and help a little) is growing every day. As you are working on your goal for your family, we will additionally be sending meals to people already suffering from food scarcity. Our distribution partner in West Africa is already feeding approximately 35,000 people and needs more help today. We want to say yes to their request and help all we can.

3squares World Food Shortage

No one has to convince you that food is becoming an in your face issue.

Being hungry means more than just missing a meal. According to a 2021 United Nations study, this growing  crisis has more than 820 million people in its grip, with millions more now under its threat due to crop failures, wars and pandemics.  This means that 1 in 10 people around the world are struggling with food scarcity. Families who struggle with chronic hunger and malnutrition consistently go without the nutrients their minds and bodies need, which then prevents them from being able to perform their best at work, school, or to improve their lives. While we certainly cannot solve this problem, we are compelled by gratitude and compassion to do what we can.
Despite $60 billion yearly in government food nutrition programs and the explosion of over 50,000 food banks and food pantries across the nation, one in six children in the United States go hungry each month and 35 million people cannot ensure minimum daily caloric requirements.
It is that last statement that is our goal. We want to support that need for 3 square meals a day that now is reality for 1/3 of America. Overseas the number is 50%
All the current trending reports tell us that we are not just headed for a food shortage, but rather we are already in one. The poorer parts of the world always get hit with the first wave. That food crisis we fear is coming here is already there. Our partners in Africa, Joseph and Christie Koomson, have been in the middle of this fight for 20 years. They are dear friends we can all trust to be God’s hands extended to thousands who need our help.

Our Partner Joseph

If you have gotten this far in reviewing our project, you know that for every 2 meals we sell, we send 1 to people who are in need of food now. As we say, we want to help people who are presently living in the food shortage problem that we are afraid may come to us. We know where there is a present need today.

I have a dear friend who lives in Burkina Faso, Africa. That country has a population of approximately 23,000,000 and is being flooded on their northern border with refugees fleeing a war. These displaced refugees find themselves in a barren land with no food, water, housing or jobs. If I am to love my neighbor as I love myself, what would I want someone to do for me if I were in that situation? That is where we will be sending most of our donated food. I have personally been to his house and have followed his ministry for 30 years.

Joseph Koomson and his wife Christie have laid down their lives and personal comfort to serve those in need In Burkina Faso for over 25 years. They are presently feeding 25,000 refugees as well as 12,000 school children. In a country that is stretched thin for food supply, they have stepped up to fill the gap. We will be posting pictures and videos of their Christ centered love for their neighbor. While future plans will include many distribution points, we have chosen them as our first food ambassadors, because they serve a growing need with grace and compassion.
